Other Thoughts about Holsters

All Kibler rigs are made from select skirting leather.

Colored rigs: black, chestnut, oxblood.  Leather is drum dyed at the tannery assuring complete pigmentation, color fast not possible with hand dyeing.

Pure Neatsfoot oil is used as a preservative.  There are other good products available.  Neatsfoot oil has been around for hundreds of years.  I have used it for over 30.  When used properly, Neatsfoot oil is without peer.

Each holster is wet molded to the intended pistol.  The throats are flared out and shaped during this molding process.

All carving is done completely by hand.  No machine stamping or embossing.

The rawhide overlay is a unique addition to Kibler Holsters.  Using rawhide to stiffen and tighten the the top of the holster originated with a mounted shooter.  This overlay virtually eliminated pistols falling out during a stage.  After some modifications, I found the rawhide roll to be a real plus for us ground shooters as well.
The rawhide roll is installed during the making of the holster.  During curing of the molded holster, the rawhide is shaped to form a stable funnel at the throat.  This pronounced and rigid funnel greatly eases reholstering - thus making for much faster and safer return to leather.
The rawhide overlay holster has been on the firing line in hundreds of matches.  Customers who have one would not be without it.  The rawhide roll is available on any holster for an additional $35 per pair.  Mechanics notwithstanding, rawhide is sure enough correct for the period, and the overlay adds a nice look to your rig.

Holsters are lined with smooth cowhide of similar tannage to the outer body.  Bark or Veg tan only.  No chrome tanned suede is used.  Pig skin lining is also available if you desire.

Belts may be lined with either smooth or rough out leather.  Again, only Veg tanned leather is used.

Most of the rigs I've shown here are pretty dressed up.  You can order a basic traditional style holster and belt starting from around $60 each piece.

Whether you choose a rig that is really fancy or one that is purely functional, you can be assured I will make yours from the best material available and with all the care and skill I've developed over the past 30 years.

Thanks Again!
